of Civil Engineering Undergraduate Program // Journal "Problems of Contemporary Science and Practice" Vernadsky University , Tambov. TSTU publisher house , 2016. (pdf-file)
Abstract: The article considers the system approach to design
of Civil Engineering Undergraduate Program. At the present stage
of society development, the object of engineer’s professional activities
has changed from a separate technical unit to a complex humanmachine
system. The connection between technical parameters
of engineering objects and socio-psychological characteristics of their
users is manifested in socio-technical approach to engineering
system design. The authors assume that integrating psychological
and pedagogical modules with engineering training in the first cycle
of higher education contributes to this approach. At the same time,
the content of such modules must have certain specifics. The module
“Psychology and Pedagogy of Higher Education” includes projectbased
activities, such as system design of the educational process
through its modeling. The main goal of learning is the creation of an
interdisciplinary system of socially oriented information, serving as
a tool for the implementation of engineering activities. - Busygina M.V. Functional Specificity of the Genre "Press Release" // Journal "Problems of Contemporary Science and Practice" Vernadsky University , Tambov. TSTU publisher house , 2016. (pdf-file)
Abstract: The article reveals functional implementation of the
genre “press release”. The following key functions are distinguished:
informative, affecting and image-function. They are divided
according to the impact systems. One of them is “Media Event” that
seems to be relevant to the genre under consideration, implementing
harmonizing and agonistic functions. As a result of the study, the
conclusion is made that the most widely spread and used functions
are: informative, affective and communicative. - Dvoretskaya E.V. English for Academic Purposes in Higher Education // Journal "Problems of Contemporary Science and Practice" Vernadsky University , Tambov. TSTU publisher house , 2016. (pdf-file)
Abstract: The paper discusses the organization of English as
a Foreign Language curriculum in Russian higher education, its
objectives and key competences it develops. It is argued that the
focus of a university English language teaching should be on
developing academic competence of students, accommodating for
the fulfillment of study objectives involving the use of English and
preparing them for international exchanges and independent work
with English-language resources. This can be achieved by setting
English for Academic Purposes as a core module of the university
EFL curriculum. - Korolyova L.Yu., Voyakina E.Yu., Melekhova N.V. Slang and Metaphors in the Process of Teaching English as a Foreign Language // Journal "Problems of Contemporary Science and Practice" Vernadsky University , Tambov. TSTU publisher house , 2016. (pdf-file)
Abstract: The article focuses on teaching slang and metaphors,
which are an integral part of any language, and based
on the analysis of language learners' beliefs and attitudes. The
interpretations of "slang" and "metaphor" are given; the functions
which they have in a language are examined and illustrated by
examples representing the way they are used in speech by native
speakers. The most common and effective techniques applied for
teaching students slang and metaphors are analyzed. - Mishchenko E.S., Lukianenko M.S., Istomin M.A. Business-Ideas Contest as a Tool for Raising the Quality of Higher Education and the Quality of Life // Journal "Problems of Contemporary Science and Practice" Vernadsky University , Tambov. TSTU publisher house , 2016. (pdf-file)
Abstract: The quality of life is defined. The core and structure
of the business-ideas contest is described. It is proved that the
contests complement the standard educational program and enhance
its effect, and as a result – influence positively on the quality of life. - Nakhman A.D., Ivanova I.Yu., Selyanskaya T.V. Formation of Competence of Mathematical Modeling in the System "School – Higher Educational Institution" // Journal "Problems of Contemporary Science and Practice" Vernadsky University , Tambov. TSTU publisher house , 2016. (pdf-file)
Abstract: The concept of competence of mathematical modeling is adapted to the process-system "school – higher educational institution". The main structural components of competence are distinguished. The classification of the models which are used in the process of learning in secondary school and characteristics of formation of competence levels are offered. - Zhukovskaya T.V., Shcherbakova A.V., Molokanova E.A. The Role of Independent Learning for the Development of General Cultural Competences by Engineering Undergraduates when Studying Mathematics // Journal "Problems of Contemporary Science and Practice" Vernadsky University , Tambov. TSTU publisher house , 2016. (pdf-file)
Abstract: In this paper, we define pedagogical conditions for
the formation of common cultural competences of engineering
undergraduates, focus on the importance and the role of independent
work of students, and describe the experience of organizing the
independent work using the developed methodological support.
